Useful information about our your visit to our office.
Your Visit to Our Offices
We are happy that you have chosen our Electrophysiology practice. We are dedicated to diagnosing and treating your heart rhythm problem. In order to make your visit with us most effective, we ask that you take the time to review our office policies and forms and, if possible, print them and fill them out. This will save time during your visit so that we may focus on your arrhythmia.
We will call your Cardiologist to obtain test results and other medical records that we may not have access to in our electronic medical record. However, it is always a good idea to bring in any records that you may have at home. Ina ddition, it is very important to have an up to date list of medications. If in doubt, you should simply bring in your medications in their original prescription bottles. In addition, don't forget to bring in your insurance card. Please note that if you have a copay, we are obligated by law to collect it at the time of your visit. We do accept credit and debit cards for this.
When you arrive for your visit, you will be greeted by our receptionist. You will be given forms to fill out while you are waiting (unless you have already filled these out). You will then be taken in to the consultation rooms. We will check your vital signs (weight, blood pressure and pulse) and review your medication list. Most of the time, we will check an ECG. If you have an implanted device such as an ICD, pacemaker or implanted monitor, we will check it at that time.
After your visit, you will be given a summary of your visit which includes a list of medications as well as instructions. Included in this summary are instructions for setting up an account on our patient portal. We highly recommend that you sign up for the portal. It allows you to review your records, test results and appointments. It also serves as a point of communication between you and your physician.
